Total (tax incl.): £0.00

My electrician has been and fitted this ceiling fan and the fan itself does not work - the light comes on but as soon as you use the black remote control to get the ceiling fan turning it trips the electicity and does not turn. I h ave now had to take it down at further expense. Could you please urgently advise me what to do - I would like to have a replacement immediately please and I will return the faulty fan to you. please email me a return postage paid label. Many thanks.

Hello Miss,

On your DC fan, there is a start-up procedure that your electrician has not performed.

It's important to keep this procedure with you because you will need to do it again when you change the remote battery.

When you connect the fan, it should beep (or not) and the light should come on.

This means that it is correctly connected to the electrical mains.

The remote control now has to communicate with the fan.

To do this, the principle is that the fan opens a pairing channel during the first 30 seconds of its power supply. Within these 30 seconds it must pick up the signal for 5 seconds.  At this time the receiver is paired with the transmitter (remote control).

After 30 seconds, the pairing channel closes and no new transmitter signal is received.

If the fan emits 3 or 4 beeps, the connection to the motor is faulty, check the integrity of the connectors.

The procedure is as follows:

1) unplug the fan, you should have installed a classic wall switch, turning it off should be enough (unless the switch cuts the neutral and not the phase, a common mistake of our electrician friends).

2) Remove the batteries from the remote control.

3) Wait 3 minutes.

4) put the batteries in the remote control, DO NOT TOUCH ANY BUTTONS!

5) Power your fan electrically.

6) For this hackney model, press both buttons on the remote control at the same time:

Light + Turn off fan for 5 to 6 seconds, below the fan.

7) The fan emits a BEEP, the fan is paired.

Warning, if you do not respect the procedure, and especially the 30 seconds after switching on, you have to restart the procedure.

Don't blame your electrician, these fans are the latest generation, they are not at all used to these DC fans.

Besides, they can take all the measures they want, if the system is closed, after the box they will not have any conclusive electrical measurement since the system is closed.

In case of problems, call us on the phone and a technician will refer your electrician.
