In the small world of the ceiling fans, big surprises don´t occur often, and as the years pass, and designs evolve according to the trends.
Most of the brands concentrate on their catalogues with its hundreds of products, of which 10 are top achievements, 25 are good products, 50 – to complete the range, and 10 that the producers wonder what to do with. The last category ends up in the warehouse for a few years. However, inventories are expensive and production requires minimum quantities.
Well, all this is part of the past as Klassfan dared to change the current status quo of the ceiling ventilation.
For KlassFan, it's the product that has to adapt to the customer and not the other way around.
The principle of the Modulo is giving a maximum choices to the customer by combining different elements.
Modulo is composed of 4 families of elements that are interchangeable and can be combined independently from one another.
1) The motor.
- available in 4 colours: Chrome, White, Basalt Gray, Wood.
2) The blades.
- There are 4 types of blades available in 3 colors each - white, black, wood.
3) Light Kit
- 4 kinds of light kits each with 4 colors corresponding to the engine chosen
- 7 decorative covers in case you do not want a light kit.
4) Down rods.
- 4 colors corresponding to the engines, in version - 60 Cm - 120 Cm, and 180 Cm.
Let's see what makes Modulo so special?
The motor :
Designing the right motor is not a simple task as it needs to be capable of carrying blades of 110 cm up to 132 cm. Moreover, it must be able to adapt to the possibility of installing either 3 or 2 blades.
For a lower consumption, the motor needs to be a DC one and, also very important, a Hyper Silence one.
With their expertise, the engineers managed to develop such a marvel of engine, that answers to all these requirements.
Mechanical technology:
Mounted on self- lubricating ball, this 100% copper motor is an example of a silence – event at maximal speed, it remains inaudible.
Moreover, it is self-balancing - good news for the installation, because without this option, you would have to forget about the 120 and 180 cm down rods.
Finally, the attachment of the ceiling fan is on a ball joint that accepts an inclination of 25 °.
Functions:
One of the latest technologies have been incorporated in this engine - the Memory function which is available for ALL functions - Light, programmed speeds and direction of rotation.
Memory function means that the fan memorizes the last saved function and will re-start it after you turn it on again, which us a very convenient function for the everyday life.
Finally, a remote control is available from where you access all the functions of your fan including the inverter, which is very convenient because you will not have to climb on the stepladder twice in the year for come reverse the direction of the blades, we pass the timer and the functions of the light kit that are accessible from the remote control recess
Klassfan has made a wise choice for the remote, the latter uses radio frequency technology, convenient because it allows not to point the fan to operate, and you can control multiple fans with a single remote control. On the other hand, it will be necessary to treat the installation of the radio antenna, because it can undergo interferences if the antenna is badly positioned in the canopy.

The blades :
One of the key elements of the fan are, of course, the blades.
For reasons of stability, these blades could not be made of wood. It would have been too heavy, and in time the wood can deform and thus unbalance the fan .
In this regard, the engineers were rather cautious, and we opted for molded ABS blades. The advantage of the abs lies in the fact that if the mold is well done, the differences between two blades are tiny, and that is exactly what the KlassFan engineers were looking for.
The specifications of Klassfan are simple there can be only 1 gram of difference between the three blades. If a blade exceeds that, it does not go to assembly.
This point is very important because the mid- range fans have between 1 and 3 grams of differnece between each blade. If you have 5 blades, you can have 15 grams of difference between the blades, obviously your fan will vibrate and make noise.
The size of the blade attachment holes, the quality of the screws, up to the washers are weighed to have a balanced fan.
Abs was the technology that was needed to design the Modulo blades.
The blades were created in a wind tunnel, like the P1 and P2 which in speed 1, 2 and 3 are discrete, and increases by 30% their efficiency in speed 4, 5 and 6. It reacts like airplane wings, and this, without any vibration. Indeed the fact that the blades are bent like the fins of an aircraft can reduce turbulence at the rear of the blade.
The blades 3 and 4 are more "conventional ". However, they are as well excellent blades, discreet and powerful, representing a great efficiency between 9500 M3 / h and 10500 M3 / h.
Does the two-blade option make the fan less efficient? Yes and no. In fact when you mount two blades, the engine detects it and increases its rotation speed by 20 to 30% depending on the blades and speeds. For example P2 runs at 187 RPM in 3-blade version, in 2-blade version it rises to 210 RPM.
The light kit:
KlassFan opted for light kits with an interesting design and net white at 4500 Kv. Besides, the Kit 1 can change the temperature in sequence to 2700, 4500 and 6000 Kv, which is convenient for those of you who want to vary the color of the light.
The kits go up to 3600 Lms of power with 3 sources or integrated drivers, so to say that if you want a real light source you will be served.
The shapes are in original design. 2 of the 4 kits have two or three colors – shortly, we are in a real decorative light.
The only disadvantage of the light kits, are that they are not dimmable. However, we will are changing this as soon as possible.
The Down Rods:
In order to be effective a ceiling fan must be between 2.5 and 3 meters high or 1.5 meters from the ceiling when it comes to the winters function.
Indeed to turn in fan of average quality to 1.2 meters is mission impossible, it is necessary thus qualities of engine and perfect rebalancing. Klassfan having self-balanced motors, the balancing is simpler than with a conventional fan.
In its basic version, the modulo comes with two down rods, one of 12.5 Cm and the other of 25 cm. Optionally, you will have the possibility of acquiring extensions of 60, 120 or 180 Cm
Klassfan guarantees the operation of these fans up to 1.8 meters which is by the way are the longest down rods to find on the market so far.
Remote control of latest generation:
Finally, for the most demanding of you, Klassfan has developed a remote control with a built-in thermostat on the fan receiver to program the start and ventilation speeds according to the temperature sensed.
From up to 19 ° the fan will turn in V1, from 19 to 26 ° speed 3, and beyond 26 V6, which is ideal for the summer but also and especially for the winter.
