In this category, you will find all our ceiling fans with destratification function, perfect for cooling you down in summer and guaranteeing a cosier and warmer atmosphere in your home or working place in winter.
Air destratifiers are ceiling fans that mix the layers of the air and thus contribute to a much balanced temperature in the room.
The warm air, due to its lower weight, climbs up to the ceiling and pushes the colder air down. The air destratifiers bring the warm air down to the floor, where it is actually needed.
Usually, there is a difference of 2 °C at every meter height, which, in case of higher ceilings, leads to colossal energy loss.
For example, if the height of the ceiling is 6 m, there will be a temperature difference of 12 °C between the highest and the lowest part of the room (ceiling/floor). This means, you will need to set your heating system to 32°C in order to be able to feel 20°C. Furthermore, this rule applies to all kinds of heating systems - underfloor, pellet, stoves, electric heaters, etc.
You can easily solve this problem if you simply install an air destratification fan in your room. With it, the difference in the temperatures between the ceiling and the floor, will be reduced to 0.3 - 0.5 °C per metre.
How does it work?
Once activated, the "winter mode" will make the blades of your fan rotate in the opposite direction, slowly and without producing any annoying breeze and without generating any unpleasant draught.
Here are the main characteristics of an air destrafifier:
1) Low power consumption, because destratificators never stop working - the first speed must be under 10 watts.
2) The summer/winter function accessible over the remote control (in order to save yourself climbing up a ladder every six months)
3) Compatibility with down rods of at least 60 cm, in order to be able to hang the fan closer to the floor, which will make it far more efficient both in winter, and in summer mode.
4) Thermostat: it detects the room temperature and sets the optimal rotational speed. Usually, the thermostat is placed under the canopy of the ceiling fan in order to be able to capture the highest temperature. This way, the fan will work more efficiently, helping you to reduce your electricity bills.
